Vom 23.
Sat, May 23, 2026: Speak (1962) and The Committee (1968) + Introduction by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza
- 58 min
- Drama
Two early Pink Floyd film scores. The first, for conceptual artist John Latham’s stop-Motion animation Speak (1962), would go unrealised. Though Latham commissioned the band to make music for Speak, which the band performed several times, he ended up going with his own proto-industrial noise track – the version screened here. Pink Floyd also created an original score for Peter Sykes’s existential noir The Committee, a surreal tale about a murderous hitchhiker, played by Manfred Mann’s lead singer, Paul Jones. Besides Pink Floyd’s improvised instrumental score, keep an ear (and eye) out for The Crazy World of Arthur Brown.
The screening and film series will be introduced by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza.
- Director: Peter Sykes
- Producer: Max Steuer
- Cast: Arthur Brown, Jimmy Gardner, Paul Jones
Sat, May 23, 2026: Iggy the Eskimo Girl (1968) + Tonite Let’s All Make Love in London (1967) + Intro
TBC
- 1 hr 10 min
- Documentary
Subtitled “A Pop Concerto,” Peter Whitehead’s incisive documentary on Swinging London features a host of actors, writers, musicians, and scenesters, among them Pink Floyd performing at UFO Club. Paired with this recently restored feature is Anthony Stern’s Iggy the Eskimo Girl, a dynamic short starring model Evelyn ‘Iggy’ Rose. Rose was Syd Barrett’s girlfriend and appeared on the cover of his debut solo LP, The Madcap Laughs.
The screening is introduced by scholars and co-curators of the Peter Whitehead Archive, Dr Steve Chibnall and Dr Alissa Clarke. The Peter Whitehead Archive at De Montfort University, Leicester, will hold a small exhibition of Pink Floyd-related items from the archive in the cinema foyer.
Sat, May 23, 2026 San Francisco (1968) + Zabriskie Point (1970) + Introduction by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza
- 1 hr 53 min
- Drama
Two films about revolt and revolution on America’s West Coast featuring music by Pink Floyd. The first, a juddering, freeze-framed portrait of America’s crucible of counterculture, San Francisco, features a rare early demo of Pink Floyd’s classic track, “Interstellar Overdrive.” Michelangelo Antonioni’s under-appreciated countercultural epic, Zabriskie Point, follows an anarchist on the run who escapes to the Californian desert and embarks on a journey of revelation in Death Valley. Antonioni’s film features music by Pink Floyd, Kaleidoscope, and the Grateful Dead.
The screening is introduced by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza.
Sat, May 24, 2026: Crystal Voyager (1973) + Introduction by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza
- 1 hr 18 min
- Documentary
The UK premiere of the brand-new 4K restoration of David Elfick’s legendary surf film. This countercultural cult classic, filmed by fellow surf documentarian Albert Falzon, was written and narrated by surfer, photographer and filmmaker George Greenough (The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun). Elfick’s film closes with a sequence filmed by Greenough as he surfs with a camera strapped to his back; edited to Pink Floyd’s song “Echoes”, it’s an extraordinary piece of footage that featured in many of Pink Floyd’s live shows.
The screening is introduced by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza with readings of statements from Greenough and Elfick.
- Director: David Elfick
- Producer: David Elfick
- Cast: George Greenough, Ritchie West, Nat Young
Sun, May 24, 2026 Psychedelia (1969) + More (1969) + Introduction by Jenny Fabian and Sophia Satchell-Baeza
- 1 hr 57 min
- Romance
Barbet Schroeder’s first feature, More (1969), is a sun-drenched tale of doomed love and heroin addiction on the beautiful island of Ibiza. Falling foul of the British censors, the film’s cult-classic status was in part due to Pink Floyd’s original score. Paired with More is Kevin Whitney’s twin-screen student film, Psychedelia: Another Day at the Office (1969), a study of faces in light. Psychedelia stars Pink Floyd’s frontman and lyricist, Syd Barrett, who, by that point, had left the band, having just returned from a trip to Ibiza.
The screening is introduced by Jenny Fabian, author of Groupie (1969), and series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza.
Sat, Jun 6, 2026: Gunnera (1969) + The Body (1970) + Introduction film critic Henry K. Miller
- 2 hr 3 min
- Documentary
Two very different takes on the human body. The first, a softcore erotic short by British underground film-maker Robert Short, pairs campy action in a makeshift jungle with the sound of Pink Floyd’s Ummagumma. Roy Battersby’s cult scientific documentary uses interior and exterior camera shots to examine the human body, along with a soundtrack by Pink Floyd vocalist and bassist Roger Waters and Pink Floyd collaborator Ron Geesin, which uses the sounds of the human body. Narrated by Vanessa Redgrave, Frank Finlay and Roger Waters.
The screening is introduced by film critic Henry K. Miller.
Sat, Jun 6, 2026 The Valley (1972) + Nick Mason Filmed Intro
- 1 hr 27 min
- Adventure/Drama
Pink Floyd’s second collaboration with Schroeder was The Valley, a tale of self-exploration and discovery in upland Papua New Guinea. A diplomat’s wife (Bulle Ogier) joins a group of hippies in search of rare birds’ feathers, instead encountering the Mapuga tribe, who lead them in search of a Paradisiacal valley “obscured by clouds.” The score was later released as the album Obscured by Clouds.
The screening of The Valley is preceded by an exclusive filmed interview with Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason.
Sun, Jun 7, 2026: When the Wind Blows (1986) + Introduction by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza

- 1 hr 24 min
- Animation
This story of nuclear apocalypse tells of a retired, elderly couple living in rural England, who hear that a Third World War is imminent between the US and the Soviets. Though they survive a nuclear blast, they fail to realise the effects of radiation. It was David Bowie that director Jimmy T. Murakami originally had in mind to score his animated adaptation of Raymond Briggs‘ 1982 novel, When the Wind Blows. Bowie had previously worked on Snowman, but his involvement was limited by prior commitments, so he only provided the title track. Instead, he turned to Roger Waters. Along with his new group, The Bleeding Heart Band, Waters wrote the songs Towers of Faith and Folded Flags, along with extended instrumental passages.
The screening is introduced by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza.
- Director: Jimmy T. Murakami
- Producer: John Coates
- Cast: John Mills, Peggy Ashcroft, Robin Houston
Sun, Jun 7, 2026: Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982)

A confined but troubled rock star descends into madness as he physically and socially isolates himself from everyone. Directed by Alan Parker and based on Pink Floyd’s 1979 studio album The Wall, the film’s screenplay was written by Pink Floyd vocalist and bassist Roger Waters. The Boomtown Rats‘ lead vocalist Bob Geldof made his acting debut as a rock star, Pink. Featuring animation sequences by the legendary cartoonist, illustrator and designer Gerald Scarfe, who went on to design the animation for The Wall stage show.
- Director: Alan Parker
- Producer: Alan Marshall
- Cast: Bob Geldof, Christine Hargreaves, James Laurenson

Wahnsinn, diese Ansammlung der Filme.
Da könnte/sollte mensch doch eine Tournee in die größte Kinos des Kontinents machen.
Das wär’s!
Wären wir Londoner, würden wir uns alles ansehen, oder Gerd? 🙂
Na klar!
Aber sind wir (leider) nicht.
