The Piper’s Call war die erste Singleauskopplung vom neuen David Gilmour Album, Luck and Strange. Niemand hätte etwas dagegen, eine weitere Kostprobe zu erhalten. Vielleicht ist es der Titelsong Luck and Strange, der zweite Track des Albums und dessen Text auf diesem Foto schön zu lesen ist.

Auf dem Album ist Luck and Strange zweimal enthalten. Neben der überarbeiteteten 6:56 Version, ist auf CD & Blu-Ray auch Luck and Strange – Original Barn Jam, mit 13:59 Minuten länge, mit Richard Wright zu hören, der 2007 in Gilmour’s Scheune aufgenommen wurde.
