‘Who’s Next/Life House’ Deluxe Edition
Nach den jüngsten Super-Deluxe-Editionen und Multi-Format-Veröffentlichungen der Who-Klassiker The Who Sell Out, My Generation, Tommy und Quadrophenia folgt nun Who’s Next, das von vielen als das beste Album der Band angesehen wird. Das Album war eine bahnbrechende musikalische Errungenschaft, die die Messlatte für andere Künstler höher legte und auch heute noch inspirierend wirkt.
Zu Beginn eines neuen Jahrzehnts standen The Who und insbesondere ihr wichtigster Songschreiber Pete Townshend vor einem wenig beneidenswerten Dilemma. Wie kann man an eine internationale Sensation namens Tommy anknüpfen?
Die Antwort war ein ehrgeiziges, futuristisches, aber vorausschauendes Projekt namens Life House.
Die in Life House enthaltenen Ideen sagten eine dystopische Welt voraus, die uns heute nur allzu vertraut erscheint. Themen wie Umweltveränderungen, allzu mächtige Konzerne und Technologien wie das Internet, von denen die Öffentlichkeit damals noch nichts wusste.

Das schaut sehr gut aus. Ich finde es bis heute schade, dass Lifehouse “gescheitert” ist. Ich glaube, es hätte (für mich) Tommy und Quadrophenia in den Schatten gestellt.
