The Wall Immersion Edition enthält 64 Demoversionen

8.9.2011: Der genaue Inhalt von Disc 5 und Disc 6 der “The Wall Immersion Edition” war bisher nicht bekannt. EMI veröffentlichte jetzt die komplette Tracklist: 64 Demos werden auf den beiden CDs zu finden sein! Die Demos stammen von Roger Waters, Pink Floyd und David Gilmour. Bei vielen Waters Demos steht als Hinweis “Excerpts From Roger Waters’ Original Demo”, also nur Kostproben die Waters zur Verfügung stellt!? Trotzdem eine geballte Demo-Ladung!

    Wirklich schade. Na ja; ‘Man muss ja vorsichtig sein’ mit jammervollen Synthesizerdemos. Hoffentlich finden die Demos ihren Weg in toto aus den Remasterstudios in die torrent-Netze.

    das wird interessant! dachte mir, dass lediglich die Band-Demos drauf sind, die ja schon seit jahren zirkulieren.
    Besonders ins Auge sticht mir, dass “Is there anybody out there?” nicht vertreten ist. Davon gibt es ja auf den Demos der BAnd eigentlich 3 Teile (parts 1, 2, 3) die hier nicht vertreten sind…. Liegt wohl daran, dass das Gitarrensolo ein Mister Unbekannt gespielt hat?
    Und dass dafür Sexual Revolution (von Pros and Cons) drauf ist, wundert mich auch….

    Hmmm, ja THE WALL interessiert mich jetzt nicht so sehr… mal ehrlich: hat hier WIRKLICH jemand Lust, sich all diese vielen (Demo-)Tracks des öfteren anzuhören…?? Fänd ich nur mal interessant zu wissen, wie andere Fans ticken, weil ich doch eher den “richtigen” Endprodukten zugetan bin… schreibt mal, lieben Gruß an euch!

      Hallo Timo!

      Um ehrlich zu sein favorisiere ich de momento zumeist die Demos den veröffentlichten Versionen, da ich letztere allenthalben auswendig kenne und mir der Charme der Demos exorbitant zusagt (z.B.: Strawberry Fields klingt in den 20, 30 Gitarrendemos weitaus besser).

      Bezüglich Sexual Revolution: Lieber Oskar! Also mich nimmt es ja nicht sonderlich Wunder wenn man bedenkt, dass beides similar entstand und – wie ich hörte – viele Sachen von The Wall, welche als zu schlecht angesehen wurden, auf The Final Cut, Pros & Cons, etc. auftauchten.

        Ich werde auch mit Sicherheit die Demo Disc 5 & 6 am häufigsten von dieser Edition abspielen! Und ich hoffe darauf, dass sie für mich neu klingen. Ich habe mich mit dem Demos die es auf Bootleg gab nie richtig beschäftigt. Die Qualität war auch nicht so gut. Also ich freue mich auf alle Fälle.

        In diese “Box” hätte aber der “Pink Floyd – The Wall Live Earls Court 1980/81” Konzertfilm hinein gehört!!! Ich nehme an das ihn Waters nicht hergegeben hat! Vielleicht hat er andere Pläne damit (hoffentlich)! Wobei einen besseren Platz als in der “The Wall Immersion Edition” kann es nicht geben! Als Beilage zur Waters The Wall 2010-12 DVD Box wäre er sicher nicht geeignet!

    Interessant – ja, wie gesagt: ich steh nicht so sehr auf Demos (ich fand auch damals schon die Maxi-Singles mit ihren 100 Versionen eines Liedes immer extrem doof – gut, Demos sind was anderes, klar – aber trotzdem). Wenn mal das eine oder andere Lied (von mir aus auch auf einem Bootleg) in einer Demo-Version veröffentlicht wird, dann isses schon irgendwie spannend, zu hören, was der Song mal war und was draus wurde – aber letztendlich bin ich den ganz neuen Sachen (also Songs, die man noch gar nicht kennt) mehr zugetan. Und eben auch im Falle meiner Lieblingsband Pink Floyd halten sich die Bootlegs in meinem Schrank doch sehr in Grenzen – wenn ich Geld ausgeben möchte, dann tu ich dies meistens für Platten, die ich eben nicht kenne oder deren Inhalt ich nicht schon erahnen kann. Das soll nicht abwertend klingen gegenüber Leuten, die eben nicht genug kriegen können von ihren Lieblingen – nur ich persönlich brauche keine 30 (Live- oder Demo- oder was auch immer für) Versionen ein und desselben Liedes…

    Viel interessanter hätte ich auch den Wall-Live-Film gefunden und generell erwarte ich immer noch ein Album mit Pink-Floyd-Songs, die nie auf einer “richtigen” Platte erschienen sind, also nur als/auf B-Seiten, Soundtracks, etc.
    Das wär mal eine schöne Bereicherung für die Sammlung – von Barrett gab´s da ja letztens sowas in der Art und von Wright hätte ich nach seinem Tod auch eine Art “Nachruf”-Album erwartet… naja, vielleicht kommt das ja noch…
