Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets in Valletta

Here are some words about Malta. Supporting band Different Light from Prague, Czech Republic. Were really cool, much better than McNally-Waters. The Saucers were accurate and started exactly on time at 21pm. Seems that there were a bit less speech. Guy Pratt told that his mother lived close to the venue many years ago when he was a boy. Also he didn’t tell a story about proposal to perform The Nile Song to David Gilmour.

The audience was a bit strange, there were some free seats, despite of the sold-out. Also people were going out and back all of the time. There were a family with two girls (I think 3 and 5yo). They went away in the middle of the show because the little girl started to sleep. Also there were no standing audience for encore. The guard made all the people to take their seats back.

Gary Kemp had some technical problems in the end of Set the Controls. Also Guy noticed the camera flashlight blinking and showed to stop but the guy in the audience was really stupid, so Guy became angry, I think. But anyway it was a great show.

After the show I had a small talk with Dom Beken, he told me he performed in Moscow at the Red Square but I was too stupid to understand which band he performed with.

This time all the band left the venue quickly, about 30 minutes after the show. I was lucky enough to get my ticket signed by all the band members. There were only 5 fans waiting for them. They were a bit drunk and not in the best mood (especially Guy).

So, look forward to Taormina.

Das Konzert der Saucerful Of Secrets in Valletta wurde von der Pjazza San Gorg (Open Air) in das Mediterranean Conference Centre verlegt! Die 1.500 Tickets dafür sind mittlerweile ausverkauft!
