Ian Ritchie sagt Teilnahme bei Roger Waters Tour ab

Das ist bitter für Ian Ritchie. Gerade erst fuhr der Saxofonist seinen Tour-Blog wieder hoch, und probte mit Roger Waters und den Bandkollgen, muss er seine Teilnahme an der Waters – This Is Not A Drill Tour 2022 aus gesundheitlichen Gründen absagen.

Eine Woche davor klang er sehr begeistert über die Fortschritte, die, die Band bei den rehearsals machte. Er schrieb darüber, “We are in the rehearsing groove now. All the songs are sounding great and will be in good shape when we relocate for the start of production rehearsals early next week.”

Seinen Ausstieg begründete er auf diese Weise.

IAN RITCHIE: I have had a physical problem for some years that has made controlling the saxophone more challenging than on the Dark Side tour. I was able to keep it in check during Us+Them. Unfortunately, the problem flared up during rehearsals this time and I was unable to perform to my, or Roger’s satisfaction. Consequently, we mutually agreed that I should step down and pass the saxophone chair over to another player.

It is with sadness I make this final blog entry. My best wishes go to Roger, his great band and wonderful crew. The TINAD tour is going to be amazing and I urge you all to see it.
